Advice from a Timeshare Advisor

Advice from a Timeshare Advisor

It might seem a little redundant to pay someone to advise you on timeshare matters but, in truth, it could be a very good idea! A timeshare advisor can help you to avoid fraudulent schemes, resale scams and even just help you to find the best deal for you and your family. That’s not to say that there are no fraudulent timeshare advisors, of course, but a good one could be invaluable to you.

What kinds of timeshare advisors are there?

Well there are three main types of timeshare advisors; pre-purchase advisors, post-purchase advisors and those available on the sales floor of timeshare providers premises.

A Pre-Purchase Timeshare Advisor

A pre-purchase timeshare advisor will give you an overview of what timeshare are available in the area you would like to visit regularly on vacation and what kind of thing you should be considering when it comes to your needs and price range. Unless affiliated with a certain provider these advisors will offer impartial advice as they are paid to give a wide overview of the market, not to plug the sales pitch.

Post-purchase Timeshare Advisor

A post-purchase timeshare advisor will be there to help if you wish to sell on your timeshare, are unhappy with the way things were handled or if you fear you may have been involved in a timeshare scam! These advisors can also give you advice should you wish to cancel your timeshare during the cooling off period.

Sale-Floor Advisor

A sales-floor advisor will talk you through your contract before you sign it, answer any questions you may have about the presentation and nuances of the deal and generally help you through the process.

What is the cost of hiring a timeshare advisor?

That really depends on what you need them to do! The important thing is to do your research before you hire an advisor (much of the information they offer could be found for free in blogs and websites like this one). Don’t forget to do a little research into their reputation too, not all timeshare advisors offer a genuine service.

Before hiring a timeshare advisor, it is highly recommend that you do your own research, nevertheless, it is true that their knowledge of the local market could be highly useful!
